Meet Our Executive Directors

Trevor Evans
Managing Director

In 1978, Trevor began his career in the provision of Environmental services when joining a national corporation Company as manager of the tank cleaning division. He left to commence his own business in 1983 and built the business year on year.

Trevor managed the growth of the company from 20 to 120 employees, diversifying into hazardous and non-hazardous waste management at its licensed waste transfer station, recycling of plastic, paper and cardboard at its separate recycling centre, and the growth of its Environmental Services division at its third site, all having been located on Merseyside.

Christine Evans BA (Hons)
Financial Director

Christine can boast over 35 years in business, including gaining an Honours Degree in Business & Finance.

As a previous Financial Director for a multi-million pound turnover business within the industry, Christine has the experience and capability to manage Ancorra’s growth during these global economically challenging times.

Meet Our Directors

Steve Davies
Commercial Director

Steve has extensive knowledge of the Environmental Services sector having learnt the industry from the ground up. Commencing as a HGV driver in the early 1990s, he progressed in to supervisory and later, commercial and managerial roles.

This hands on approach over the last 20 years has given Steve experience and knowledge in all areas of the environmental sectors – Operational, Environmental & Commercial – leading to him being the natural choice as Commercial Director of Ancorra.

Christopher Evans
ROI & NI Division Director

Christopher has a wide range of experience in the Environmental Services sector, previously working in the UK and Australia, before making his permanent home in Ireland.

In 2017 he joined the Board of Directors at Ancorra and was tasked with setting up an Irish based division of the business. From his base in Dublin he can ensure that customers both in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland can be better served, as well as being poised to take advantage of new business opportunities to enable the growth of the division.

Janet Garland LLB (Hons)
Operations Director

Janet started her career training to be a lawyer completing a Law degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. However, having decided to utilise her skills instead in the heavily regulated environmental industry, Janet has been in the waste management and environmental services industry for 22 years.

During that time she has worked in various roles including logistics, operations, commercial and management. Joining Ancorra as Operations Director was just a natural progression to develop her career.

Simon Palmer
Group Sales Director

Simon has been the industry since 1993. He started off as an engineer/operator, progressing to the position of depot manager within his first few years. His hands on approach has enabled him to gain considerable experience, particularly in the forecourt maintenance sector, and is an asset which many customers find refreshing and beneficial.

Since joining Ancorra, Simon has enjoyed sharing his skills in setting up a new foam injection division whilst expanding his expertise and capabilities within a wide range of other sectors.

Lynsey Houghton
HR & Business Administration Director

Prior to joining the Waste Industry Lynsey worked in the Public Sector for 10 years performing a wide variety of administrative functions.

In 2003, Lynsey joined the environmental services and waste industry, where her roles involved accountancy functions, payroll and HR. Since then, the payroll has grown from 20 employees to over 120 and Lynsey has further developed her HR knowledge by attending a number of training courses to add to her expertise. Lynsey joined Ancorra in April 2013 and was promptly invited to the Board of Directors.

Jennie Riding LLB
Marketing & Strategy Director

Jennie has experience in ensuring compliance and managing change in regulation, overseeing storage and recovery and treatment of hazardous and non hazardous waste, including shipment to European facilities (TFS). Whilst working, she has continued to study and has achieved NEBOSH and DGSA qualifications.

Jennie is proud to have led the Company to 9001, 14001 and 18001 accreditation within the first year of trading and continues to maintain the Management System whilst pursuing new projects in her capacity as Marketing & Strategy Director.

Meet Our Operational Team

Tony Mitchell
Logistics Director

Working as an HGV driver for over 15 years, Tony began driving for a multinational waste company and obtained the necessary qualifications for transporting hazardous goods. It wasn’t long before his full potential was recognised and he was promoted to Operations Supervisor and eventually to Transport Manager, responsible for the day to day logistics, scheduling and maintenance of a fleet of 30+ specialist vehicles. During this time he also obtained his National Certificate of Professional Competence and since joining Ancorra has complete his WAMITAB qualification in Level 2 Sustainable Waste Management.

Tony joined Ancorra in May 2015 and has quickly become a valuable asset to the rapidly expanding Operations Team.

Amy Davies
Office Administrator

Amy has worked within the company for over 10 years, she began working for Ancorra part time balancing her role of Office Administrator with attending university. During this time, she relished the opportunity to experience the working world in contrast to her academic studies and has found working to deadlines and learning organisational skills mutually beneficial.

Since then, Amy graduated from university gaining a degree in Physical Education and School Sports Science and began working full time in Ancorra. She soon realised that her passion was to work within the business using her determination and drive to work her way up to become Ancorra’s Civils & Maintenance Operations Manager. Amy is now relishing in her new role, showing signs of fantastic commercial skills, strategic thinking, time management and effective communication across the division. Alongside managing the Civils & Maintenance division, Amy also spends time organising Ancorra’s exhibitions, helps develop the company’s social media strategy and implementing improved business processes.
